So much has happened since Lexi's first birthday, I'm not even going to attempt to recap everything.
So let's see how quickly I can hit the high points...
Lexi quasi learned how to stand. She's kind of lazy and doesn't really like to do it very much, but occasionally I catch her on camera when she's not looking!
I had a Christmas piano recital for my students at our TINY house. Our living room was filled to capacity! It was definitely "cozy!" My students did great, and thanks to pinterest, I had never ending ideas of cute holiday treats to make!
My little brother got his mission call to LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS, Spanish speaking. He sent his call to my house since he was heading home from BYU and was afraid it wouldn't make it in time. Once it arrived at my place, the suspense was too much, and I GOT TO OPEN IT for him!! I was a good sister though, and didn't look at it before taking a picture and sending it to him to read via conference call. I have no idea why I deleted the pictures from that night! It was so fun!
Lexi, who at one point knew exactly what a horse said, became quite mixed up in her animal sounds. She did however perfect the art of riding the pink horse! And got back on track with what a sheep says...
We spent Christmas alone this year, just our little family. We were able to see my family on either side of Christmas; a few days before, and a few days after. But as for Christmas morning, we (for the first time in 5 years of being married) had it at home, in our own house. As much as we missed being with family, I did love not traveling around the holidays! And I loved that Christmas was on Sunday. I can't think of a better place to be on Christmas morning than at church. It was a perfect day!
Alexis got a new car seat...and miraculously doesn't hate driving in the car anymore!!
We sold Alexis' luxury ride (saying "so-long" to the BOB was a sad day for me!), and upgraded to this sweet $15 beauty till my dream stroller goes on sale. Alexis does not understand the concept of the umbrella stroller, and tries as hard as she can to turn around, and stand up in it, all at the same time. I sure do miss my 5-point harness seat belt!!
Alexis continues to thoroughly enjoy reading. She could spend the whole day looking at books, which makes me SO happy! I love listening to her read to herself. I'm convinced she thought she was actually on the bear hunt the day she was reading this!
An update would not be complete without documentation of the new car. Next to books, this is definitely Alexis' prize possession! She rides it quite the same way she rides her horse, which is incredibly entertaining to watch.
And last, but not least, we're having a baby BOY in June! We are thrilled! Also, I'm completely scared out of my mind, but we'll worry about that in a few months. At this point, I'm trying to just hold life together with my one, incredibly rambunctious and completely spunky one year old! They say if the first is wild, the second is calm, right.? Or did I just make that up?!?!
